So, I've been working on my writing, but it's kind of nice to work on little jewelry bits between writing bursts. I was going to enter a necklace in the Stringing Magazine "Fairy Tales" contest, but apparently FedEx had a hiccup with my last shipment from Fire Mountain, so I spent roughly three weeks poking them until it got solved. To be fair, once it got back to Fire Mountain, they solved it right off, and they overnighted the stuff to me without complaints or extra charges. Not that that isn't the way it should be, but it's always nice when it is. So yay, Fire Mountain!
I'm looking into maybe changing my photo hosting, or starting up an Etsy store or something, since the current system is cumbersome and kind of annoying. For right now, if anyone wants to reach me, my primary e-mail for jewelry is dragonlover121@gmail.com. Try and put "jewelry" in the subject line, so I know what's up. I'll post here if I figure out how to make this whole thing easier without having to go find a webmaster. I can't program to save my life. >.>
Well, I'm going on vacation again, starting the week of Thanksgiving and, while I'll be able to check my e-mail regularly, I probably won't be able to post a lot of new pictures, just because I won't have the time. If you're reading this from Wyoming, I'll be there with as much of my stuff as I can conveniently travel with, so get ahold of me there.

Long time no post!
Whew! Getting ready for Halloween has been fun, but I went all-out on my costume this year, so that's been my main creative motivation lately. Now that it's done, maybe some of the jewelry juices will come back. Hopefully the writing ones will as well, since I'm doing NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) again next month. My plan right now is to make jewelry when I'm all out of writing steam, and vice versa. Well, insofar as I actually have a plan.
Anyway, there is some new stuff today. I made some earrings for the Storm Goddess necklace, and a "Leaf Mail" bracelet, which was a lot of fun. I got in a couple of scale mail kits from The Ring Lord (http://theringlord.com/), so I'm going to play around with those a bit. I love scale mail, but I have next to no patience for all the tedious ring joining involved. My leaf mail was done with wire and leather rather than rings, and I like the suppleness it imparts, plus it's a slightly faster process.
My goal right now is to post at least one new thing a week, so we'll see how that goes. November is going to be nuts, but it's my own fault. :P

Vacation
Hello!
Sorry it's been so long since I updated. I've been feeling very unmotivated since Scott was deployed. Not surprising, really, since my sleeping habits go all whackadoodle when I'm by myself, and it's hard to be motivated when you're either not sleeping enough or sleeping too much.
But you're not here to listen to me whine. You're here for the shiny. More shiny is here, I promise. I'm headed out west for a couple of weeks, to spend some time with family and friends, and I'm not going to bring the entire bucket of jewelry supplies with me. However, I have a few things that can be posted at a later time, and I will bring my travel kit, so who knows what you might see? Keep an eye out.

Note on Flickr Stream
Apparently you have to be a member of Flickr to comment on my photos there. If you don't want to fuss around with Flickr, go ahead and comment here if you'd like something in particular.
However, signing up for Flickr is free, which would also make it easier on me to check if anyone wants something specific. In the end, it's up to you, of course.
Almost forgot: My e-mail address is in my profile. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions!

New!
Hi again! If you're watching this, keep an eye on the Flickr stream; a lot of new stuff should come up in the next couple of days, if not today. I've just gotten behind on updating my pricing spreadsheet, which I'm fixing right this minute.
Just now: Rose quartz scarab earrings. I'm thinking I'm going to get some stonecarving tools; I know how to do it, and it's way easier to find uncarved cabochons than it is to find the ones I want at a price that's okay with me. Maybe I just need better Google-fu, but I'd enjoy doing the carving, so I think I'll give it a whirl at some point.
Anyway, as always, thanks for stopping by!

Hello!
Here we are, then! First things first, hi, I'm Kelsey. I have a serious addiction to finding pretty rocks. In the last two years or so, I've expanded my addiction to pretty rocks into making jewelry. Most of what I do is beading and wire wrapping, but I'm always trying new techniques. I'm trying to keep it confined to one (large) tub right now, so I'm restraining myself from starting on metalworking. At least for now. My husband is in the US Air Force, so we move around a fair bit. We've been in Ohio for just about a year now, and will probably move again in another two or three years.
On that note, a little bit about me. First of all, the "Tindi" in "Tindi's Sparkles" comes from my very first World of Warcraft character, and has become my de facto internet ID. It's a nickname for "Tindomerel," which means "nightingale" in Tolkien's Quenya Elvish. That right there tells you one of the most noticeable things about me: I'm a nerd. A big nerd. I love fantasy, any way I can find it, but mostly in books and video games. I love music, from most genres. These are my inspirations. I also paint, write, and am slowly taking up gardening and bird-watching. Nature also inspires me a ton, which is no surprise, since I've been a rock nut since I was a kid. Oh, and I should mention the Colorado Rockies baseball team, since they've inspired at least two specific pieces. I love baseball, and I was born in Denver, so I've been a Rockies fan since there were Rockies to be a fan of.
My pets inspire me to get up in the morning (not a morning person), so they deserve a mention as well. I have a very small cocker spaniel named Yume and a very large tabby cat named Neko. The dog hates it when I work on the jewelry, because I'm not paying attention to her, but the cat seems to find it fascinating, and will watch every step of the way... until he gets bored.
My husband, Scott, has been very patient about how my hobby takes over the living room, and how shipments come in almost every day. As I said, he's an officer in the Air Force, and he's off at combat training right now.
I suppose the next question to be answered is, "What are we doing here?" Well, if you're a friend of mine on Facebook, you're here because I told you about it, and you probably know most of that up there (except maybe the origin of my nickname, because that's a bit nerdy even for me).
For all the rest of you, I hope this will become my main page for all my jewelry stuff. I could have started another Facebook page, but I ramble a lot, so a blog made much more sense. I'm also putting up a Flickr page, which I'll add to whenever I do anything new, unless it's a surprise for someone. Usually I don't put pictures of commissions up until I know the person has gotten them, just so they can be the first person besides me (and the cat) to see their cool new stuff.
That leads right into ordering and such. I don't have a storefront right now, as I generally make most of my stuff to order, or I keep it myself. However, I'm generally willing to part with something if you ask nicely, or I can make something similar. Since I work primarily with gemstones, every piece is unique. I do have a price for everything I post, and I charge a LOT less than retail, even including shipping. I ship Priority Mail, flat-rate, unless otherwise specified.
I've started up a Flickr specifically for this site, and I'll upload new stuff as soon as I find my camera! You can see the latest on the widget to the left.
Thank you for reading my epic babble, and I hope you enjoy my jewelry!
